What the Scheme Asks of You
The commitment side of the case — honestly and in full.

A 20-year commitment
Joining the Ure Dales is a 20-year commitment. That is the minimum horizon at which the ecological recovery the scheme targets — peatland hydrology, woodland establishment, soil structure, species return — can reasonably be expected.
What you commit to
- Delivering your agreed ecological plan for the duration of your membership
- Maintaining at least Bronze-tier stewardship standards
- Participating in the three-yearly audit cycle
- Attending or being represented at general meetings
- Respecting consortium governance decisions taken by consent
What you do not commit to
- Transferring ownership or control of your holding
- Remaining in the scheme beyond Year 3 if you choose to exit
- Public-facing activity or marketing (recognised at higher tiers, not required)
- Any action beyond what is in your delivery plan
Exit provisions
Exit is available without penalty after Year 3. Delivered restoration on your holding belongs to you. Tier recognition earned remains with you. The scheme proceeds with the remaining members.
